March 10, 2007 - The United Methodist Children’s Home in Mt. Vernon was awarded the United Methodist Association's 2007 Organization of the Year. This award presentation was made during UMAs annual convention on March 10 in Boston, MA. The United Methodist Association is a national association of over 400 hospitals, older adult ministries and child care facilities.
UMCH was selected to receive this prestigious award as a result of their diligence & efforts to provide high quality and professional services and to respond to unmet & underserved needs in the community. During the past 24 months, UMCH has opened several new programs including YouthBuild of Jefferson County, Quest School and Professional Foster Care. UMCH has 8 programs and serves over 250 children & families.
