Autism 101 Training

   

 

     Dr. Anthony Cuvo and Leigh Grannah MS, BCBA of The Autism Project (TAP) at SIUC will be doing Autism 101 training free of charge at UMCH in the Chapel Conference Room on June 16.  The training will begin at 5:30 pm and end at 8:30 pm.

 

     The topics covered in the Autism 101 presentation will include the following: autism characteristics, diagnosis, epidemiology, causes, treatment alternatives, evaluating evidence for treatments, Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders programs, and The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP).

     Please attend if you can and if you know anyone who might be interested in this training it is open to the community free of charge.

Related: Autism Resource Room

     The Autism Society of Illinois – Southern Illinois Network partnered with UMCH, Mt. Vernon City School District 80, and SIU-Carbondale Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders to open the Autism Resource Room.  The grand opening of the Autism Resource Room was held on April 29 and is located in the UMCH Community Connections Building at 207 N. 27th Street in Mount Vernon.  Parents, caregivers, teachers, and therapists can check out autism-related materials and access autism-specific information at the Autism Resource Room.
