Shining Star of the Year
The staff of United Methodist Children's Home selected Josh Smith as the Shining Star of 2008. Josh is a Mental Health Specialist in the Residential Program and was nominated for his strong work ethic, being a good role model for youth, and his role as a co-trainer of the crisis intervention model. Each month a UMCH employee is recognized as a Shining Star based on nominations by their supervisors and/or peers for going "above and beyond" their job expectations. Also nominated in 2008 were Koletta Clark, Jennifer Dycus, Crystal Garrison, Tikkisha Givens, Brenda Johnson, Blake Jones, Angela Kemp, Roshelle Rollins, Jesse Stevenson, and Carolyn Vachata.
